Product Designer. Illustrator. Mentor.

From sketchbooks to scalable systems, design’s been my language, people my purpose.

Over the past few years, I’ve worked across a wide range of products—from smart travel souvenirs and medical tools to yacht platforms and football fan apps. Whether I’m leading a team, sketching out stickers, or refining UX flows, my goal stays the same: make things that work well and feel right.I’ve had the chance to shape visual identities, design mobile-first products, and guide over 30 aspiring designers as a mentor. I care deeply about good design, collaboration, and staying curious.

How it all started?

Where the spark began

I’m Dejan Zafirovski, a UX/UI design lead with over five years of experience, and I’ve spent more than 15 years in the marketing sector. My journey began at the age of 4 when I surprised everyone with a drawing of my father. I didn’t know what I was doing, but it left people amazed. Hey, this isn’t going to be a long story. Well, not a very long one 😊.

Fast forward to my time at the faculty of dentistry, where I came across an ad in Enter magazine, one of the most famous tech magazines at the time, looking for journalists. I thought I’d give it a try, and five years later, I became a website editor, working with various hardware components and software solutions. Unfortunately, after two years, Enter stopped operating.

What was meant to be?

Sometimes unplanned. Always meant to be.

Next, I found myself working as a press operator in a printing house. A month later, I was tasked with creating a brand identity for Fashion Weekend Skopje, designing a catalog, and doing things I hadn’t even considered before. I continued creating packaging designs and am particularly proud of revamping the entire brand identity for Vizba Valandovo Winery, including the logo, and about 20 new wine labels now sold worldwide.

Craving something new, I joined a marketing agency as a graphic designer. Over the next three years, I learned a lot about teamwork, campaign management, Google Ads, and Facebook Ads. I worked on numerous marketing campaigns, developed many brand identities, and was surrounded by packaging design.

UX/UI Designer

with purpose

Focused on clarity, driven

by impact.

And then came the next chapter: my career as a UX/UI designer. It involved many sleepless nights, tutorials, and support from my team. Today, I’m proud to say that I’ve worked on projects for Coca-Cola, Red Cross, Gulli Magnets, Smoodo, and more. For the past five years, I’ve been striving to make technology easier and faster for people to use. I hope I’m doing well 😊.

Two years now, I’ve also stepped into the role of a mentor at a CreativeHub academy, guiding over 30 students as they navigate their paths in design and technology.

Me at work

Behind the screens, inside the process.

I always try to be there, in the moment, when the actual problem is being solved, right in the room with every stakeholder.

Speaking of stakeholders, I love asking zillions of questions, whether it's clients, users, or developers. So many times devs have told me I’m the best designer they've ever worked with… though sometimes, I might’ve been the only one, so I don’t take that too seriously. 😄

Jokes aside, I do try to be their best ally when it comes to design. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about technical constraints, but I still believe in staying aligned, with the team, the goal, and the skills we bring to the table.

Sketching comes first, wireframes second, and testing always happens before I jump in with gradients and give devs a headache.

Prototypes are a must for me, from screen one. If the flow works early on, the whole business–user experience will follow beautifully.

Me at home

It’s all the same, but different.

I always try to be there, in the moment, with my wife, my friends, my family… even though they constantly say they miss me.

Balancing work and life is never easy, but I do my best. I'm always on the go—mentoring, sketching new ideas, illustrating—and honestly, that, especially that, is the hardest part: staying sane in a world full of lunatics. And by lunatics, I mean the most positive, chaotic, creative minds I’m lucky to be surrounded by.

Did I mention gym, running, or cycling in my free time?Of course not—I haven’t done that in a year.

But I love cooking, listening to podcasts, digging for new music, and relentlessly waiting for F1 weekends

to begin.

Clients that arise me

Those who challenged me, believed in me, and shaped my path as a designer

From global brands to bold startups, I’ve worked across industries through both agency life and freelance hustle.

While much of the work is under NDA or a bit behind the times, I’m still happy to name a few… just to hint that I’ve been around the good stuff.
